Verified energy drink records
A product record must identify the exact formulation, market, package, observation date and supporting source. Values are published only after those fields can be checked.
No individual product records are published yet. The database will not use inferred, incomplete or unverified product profiles merely to create the appearance of coverage.
Required fields for every product record
| Field | What is recorded | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Brand, product name, variant and manufacturer | Taken from a verified label or official product record |
| Market and date | Country or market and date observed | Prevents one market or formulation from being generalised to another |
| Package and serving | Container volume and declared serving size | Allows totals per serving and per container to be calculated |
| Caffeine | Milligrams per 100 ml and total per container | Recorded as a dose, not described only as low or high |
| Sugar and energy | Grams of sugar plus kJ and kcal per 100 ml | Recorded separately from caffeine |
| Other ingredients | Sweeteners, vitamins, taurine and other declared ingredients | Presence and declared quantity are stored separately when available |
| Evidence | Source type, source link and access date | Every published value must be traceable |
A product label, official manufacturer specification or suitable laboratory report must support each composition record. If sources conflict, the discrepancy is recorded rather than silently resolved. A missing value is marked as not reported; it is never treated as zero.
How products will be compared
Comparisons will use consistent units and distinguish concentration from total package dose. Caffeine and sugar will be shown per 100 ml and per container wherever the source data permit. Product formulations will be tied to their observed market and date because the same named product may differ between countries or change over time.
